TWWork (formerly 'This Woman's Work') is a multi-faceted career resource and content library, that has interview-based podcasts at its core.TWWork was set-up to tackle two fundamental problems:Because fitting into the working world is hardFor lots of us, but especially for (our main/core audience of) women who have made sacrifices for their children/families and when they try to ‘come back’ to work, (too) often find they no longer fit into a career, or indeed a role they once held dear. But fitting in is a problem that affects not just working mothers… It has never been harder to find, fit into and thrive in the right job, which is madness. But a madness that TWWork wants to help cure.Because the recruitment system/industry globally is outdated... and fundamentally restrictive, and it needs a massive shake-up! Countless talent is going under-utilised, globally, either because it can’t be ‘easily’ or ‘conveniently’ found, or because recruiters only want to look for linear candidates that fit into predetermined boxes. Or, because more and more AI and tech-based recruitment solutions think they can find the ‘right’ people via data and coding algorithms, which ignore everything special and unique about a person. This is a human problem and we are going to ‘cure it’ in a human way. Break Room 10: Harrison & Chops: Youth Vs the (working) world

Chops had so much to ask 19-year old uni student, Harrison, about his generation... Which was unfair. However, he did the best he could to answer questions like: What do you think the working world is going to be like when you graduate? How motivated by money is your generation? How (face-to-face) social is your generation?Inevitably the conversation turned to Ai a few times, and it was sad to hear Harrison say that he had NO idea how Ai was going to impact the industry he's hoping to work in; and how after his 7-years at Uni (yep, 7), he's fully aware that he might not even get a job doing it, because the world will have changed so much. His worries aside, Harrison is having the time of his life at Uni, which in itself is an interesting reminder. Despite the astronomical costs of University now, it IS an amazing, liberating experience for young people (if done right). It's their first chance to be independent and in FULL control of their lives, without the pressures of day-to-day working (adult life).... Pressures that will grow and grow and which they'll spend the rest of their lives bearing. Putting all 'that' off for a few years has got to be good for the human soul and spirit, right? Please meet Harrison.....** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Chat 90: Sara: A brilliant, multi-faceted Chartered Accountant...

Although Sara was always GREAT at maths, she actually pursued languages at college and Uni and then kind-of fell into accountancy, almost on a whim later on... Only to (go on and) absolutely boss it while working for some really big - and very complex and highly scrutinised - corporations. Then, when she had her kiddies and moved away from the corporate world and into smaller, self-employed 'practice' accountancy, Sara (of course) bossed that. Whilst also bossing it as a mum to three. And yet she doesn't necessarily see it that way; and like many of us, Sara is riddled with self-doubt and imposter syndrome. Please meet Sara.....** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Break Room 9: Gemma & Chops: Ai Vs the creative industry with IP and copyright

There is undoubtedly A LOT to unpack here, and we barely scratched the surface with Gemma, so this is likely a first of many chats like this, with many different guests. Our main focus, given Gemma's job as an IP and Trademark attorney, was to discuss Ai's impact on OG creators... The people that shot the images to start with; that established the design trends; that wrote the informative copy; that OWN the copyright and design rights to original content that Ai mines and harvests to create something new. Because 'in theory', it does create something new. It does what designers and writers have been doing for generations - taking inspiration from others - copying others to some extend (sometimes quite literally, hence why Gemma even has a job), and homogenising it into something new.The main issue we therefore discuss with Gemma, is 'how new' is new. Because the level of 'new' and the originality of the end product is what impacts copyright, as Gemma explains eloquently.Enjoy Break Room 9.....** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Chat 89: Luci: A bad-ass corporate VP and management consultant...

Luci is utterly lacking in ego; and given what her career has been - and still is - that's saying a lot.Instead, Luci is an unassuming, brilliant combination of charisma and innate capability; all of which have almost seamlessly propelled her down the amazing career path that she's had. A career that has has seen her work for some amazing names and travelled (and been based) around the world, making full use of her multi-language skills. Please meet the globetrotting, boss-bitching, Luci.....** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Chat 88: Maddy: A power-house growth consultant and import/export specialist

When Maddy confirmed her 'International' role at clothing brand, Mint Velvet, she was an instant pod guest... Brilliant brand, doing brilliant things... We needed to know more!Of course Maddy goes on to name-drop a plethora of other well-known retail brands she's worked for: Tesco, Wiggle, JoJo Maman Bebe, Huel... Yep, Maddy REALLY knows her stuff; and she gets paid well, and is able/allowed to work balanced 'family' hours, because aside of being absolutely lovely, Maddy is a highly trusted pair of hands who gets the job done and delivers results.... Results that 100% change the trajectory of where a business is going - and makes that business very, VERY good money. Please meet Maddy.....** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Chat 87: Jodie: A super-talented colour analyst, interior designer... and accountant...?!

Hearing that bright, vibrant, colourful, Jodie, had spent the bulk of her career in accountancy... And that she still works as one, absolutely blew our minds!... Because numbers people can't be really creative, too... Can they?Yes they can. And Jodie is. She has curated a career that not only pays her well, for a job that she's really good at; but one that simultaneously allows her to explore and expand her creative side. A side that was innate in her, but had perhaps been silenced during her early working life, as corporate drive and ambition took centre stage.Jodie is a brilliant example of people (and particularly women), fitting, but also 'not' fitting into boxes. And as their careers progressed, however successful that may have been, there's still an itch... An itch that's small and even relatively quiet at the start; but with time and circumstantial shifts, grows and grows, until it gets to a point that it just HAS to be scratched. Please meet Jodie.....** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Chat 86: Wayne: A brilliant office design and fitting business owner

What is perhaps most interesting about Wayne's career, is how much of it came about because of 'chance' connections/reconnections. Chance meetings and 'bump-ins', where Wayne could have just decided to smile and walk by. Instead, he took the time to go up and chat to the people involved; ask some questions and find information out. Information that ending up putting him on whole new career and life paths. The power of human connection, you see!Combine that with just a fascinating industry that covers creative, technical, craftsmanship, sales, marketing, project management... Office design and fitting almost has it all, which makes it a real 'unicorn' industry... A secret unicorn industry (if there can be such a thing). Please meet Wayne.....** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Chat 85: Cara: A brilliant (mega corp) Graphic Recorder and Illustrator

Like most of our guests on TWWork, Cara went around the houses to land where she is, and to carve out the truly unique career that she has... A career that has seen her regularly deployed at the offices of, and/or in the presence of big tech players like Google and Microsoft, and big retail players like John Lewis. She's been flown around the world and been put up in amazing hotels, in order to observe meetings where the future of it all is discussed. And as Chops jokes about in the chat, imagine (without all the legal NDAs) the book Cara could write (or draw ;-) with the information she's seen and heard over the years... The conversations she has been privy to.... But as Cara says, and with full credit to her solid Social Working career beforehand... She never draws and tells. Please meet Cara.....** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Chat 84: Caroline: A super high-performing Operations Director

For a job/role like Caroline's, where you need to be hyper-focussed and hyper-organised, it's likely that to do such an job, and to be very good at it (as Caroline is), you're probably on some kind of ADHD spectrum. And that is said with love, because for people with that kind of brain, 'Operations' and logistics could well be a GREAT career for you... One where your channelled brain acts like a true super-power as opposed to a hindrance.Either way, what Caroline emphasises with all of her varied (and sometimes bonkers mad) jobs, is her willingness to get stuck in, stay positive and do the best job she could do. Whether that's working behind a bar, scrubbing pots, or organisation multi-million-pound event expos around the world. And because of that, nearly every employer Carline's had, has wanted her to stay on and progress within that company. Please meet Caroline.....** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Chat 83: Henry: A highly pastoral and value-driven private school Head Master

There is no doubt that Henry received a very 'privileged' education and he attended some of the best private schools in the UK. However, he soaked up every part of it. He embraced as much of it as he could, and he made as many connections as he could. He recognised mentors that were in front of him and he extracted as much as he could from each of them.Henry didn't take any of his education for granted and his beliefs and his approach to privilege and education are as progressive as they are pragmatic. Henry describes his school (Oakham School) as a gift for children, which he clarifies to mean that although he doesn't want any student to feel guilty about receiving it, he does expect them to feel gratitude for it and to embrace it fully; and get the most out of it, just like he did. Please meet Henry.....** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Yep, she's hardcore bad-ass.There's not a lot Heather hasn't seen, done and worked on in the events field, which is why although still a 'hired gun' consultant for big, global events, Heather now creates her own events, and she uses her vast experience and her contacts to bring her event ideas to fruition... Chat 81: Rose: A super-passionate, female-focussed Nutritionist

Periods, female cycles and female hormone shifts are HUGE subjects that affects girls and women of all ages, and yet it is something that STILL barely gets any airtime. Women (and girls) are still required to just put up, shut up, and suffer in silence.Rose firmly believes in food as medicine, and particularly, food as a super-power to support women throughout their monthly cycle, and indeed throughout their aging cycle. She also believes women's cycles can tell us so many amazing things about ourselves, if we listen to them; and if we reframe them to be an insight, rather than a menace and a chore. So much to unpack with Rose, and we barely even scratch the surface in this chat. Please meet Rose.....** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Chat 80: Natasha: A bad-ass mechanic and 'car parts' business owner

Not only does Natasha work at an all-female garage, as a mechanic, but she also owns and runs her own car-parts business, and is a specialist at knowing and sourcing car nuts and bolts... Which are notoriously hard to source - correctly at least. In the chat Natasha talks about how countless mechanics and garages buy and attempt to fit certain bolts, only to realise they don't fit and won't work, and then have to order some more, all while your car sits there waiting to be fixed.Natasha's story is awesome. She's a drop-dead gorgeous, feminine woman, living and woking in a very, VERY man's world, and she's bossing it. Yes, she gets countless comments (online especially) about how she should 'get back to the kitchen', and she gets mansplained to on an almost daily basis, but she's thriving nonetheless. Please meet Natasha.....** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Chat 79: Rachel: A highly experienced, transformational make-up artist

Rachel was always really creative and she always loved the creativity surrounding make-up in particular; the transformations that can come from doing make-up well, and the joy the (before and) 'after' can bring to someone, particularly women. ... And particularly Chops, who used Rachel for her TWWork relaunch shoot back in October, and who couldn't believe (in a good way!) what Rachel did to her face?!But as Rachel says in the chat, she doesn't change anyone's face, she simply enhances it and highlights what's already there. Which is empowering in such a unique way and can be transformational for female confidence.Because imagine what women could do if more of them had the confidence of their male counterparts... If they had even half the confidence of their male counterparts... It would be game-changing for society as we know it.Please meet Rachel.....** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Chat 78: Kim: A highly experienced stockbroker and holistic wealth manager...

Generational perceptions and prejudices surrounding money; generational expectations and societal norms passed down; and perhaps most importantly, how these thinks fundamentally shape us, our view of the world, and our career paths... Are all covered and brilliantly articulated in Kim's pod.Kim openly discusses the odd (even negative) relationship she had with money as a young working person, despite the exposure she went on to have with 'wealth' and indeed the daily interactions she had with people who 'have money'.Years later, Kim's unique approach to wealth management combines all of her extensive finance experience, with some pretty hefty holistic experience and A LOT of honest and very personal self-reflection, in order to help people (mostly women) to make the 'right' choices with their money. Not necessarily practical choices, or 'expected' choices, but the 'right' choices for each person's needs. Please meet Kim.....** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Chat 77: Annabel: An employment lawyer who's now a dating matchmaker

In this chat we discuss how on earth Annabel had got into the (potential) minefield that is 'matchmaking'; plus how she's tackling what is, a global 'dating' and 'matching' problem right now.... The lack of coupling (and sheer volume of sexless people) is a hot topic in some scientific circles, and even some governmental circles.Annabel got into this world, because over the past 15-years (since her divorce) she's tried every form of dating herself; and even though she can't seem to find her Mr Right; Annabel realised how passionate she was/is about trying to fix this dreadful problem and in doing so, help others. Plus how bloody good she is at meeting and connecting others. So after a drunken chat with a friend one night, circa a year ago, Norfolk Cupid was born. Please meet Annabel.....** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Chat 76: Jordan: An award winning HR Consultant and Chief People Officer

Jordan and TWWork are on the same course/the same path in terms of wanting to help people in work, and giving power back to people; we're simply tackling it in different ways. Which is great, because there is no 'one solution' to the global problem we've got... The problem of just how many people are fundamentally unhappy with work, and unhappy in their jobs.So of course we're going to get Jordan involved in TWWork in some way, the universe has set it up thus; however, right now he's on his own start-up journey, which is two-fold: 1. Is to work with and coach senior leaders, to be MUCH better leaders, and 2. Is to give a clearer voice to workers, which Jordan can then use to further shape task 1.But even aside of Jordan's mission(s), his story and his hugely successful HR career journey is great and shows how attitude + aptitude has = immense altitudinal success for him. He also talks a lot about how amazing women have supported and sponsored him over his life and on his career journey, which is music to our ears! Please meet Jordan.....** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Break Room 8: Lexie & Chops: The world is energetically shifting, so what do we do about that?

A slightly left-field Break Room chat for you this week... To attempt a discussion about a bigger picture that's affecting us all... And yes, done in an alternative, 'woo-woo' kind of way ;-)We know lots of people won't like this Break Room chat, and that's totally ok. Truly.... Perhaps they can't feel the energetic shift going on. Perhaps they're not looking at everything in the news and questioning it at a deeper level. Or if they can/do, perhaps they're choosing to ignore how they really feel about it; which is absolutely fair and ok to do so.There is no right and wrong, and we're all just doing the best we can with the world and the circumstances we're living in.Lexie, however, believes she's on a path to help and heal, and in her own words, play her part in the change that's unfolding in the world. And she's using her knowledge and experience as a Priestess Astrologer to do that.So if you're happy to, please take a listen to some woo-woo waffle, and please meet Lexie.....** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Chat 75: Gemma: A highly experienced and highly respected TV & media producer

The variety of Gemma's work; the creativity of it, the pace of it, the sense of achievement from it... And yes, the glamorous side of media production, will no doubt be fascinating to lot of you. Although, as Gemma mentions, it's FAR LESS glamorous than people think. However, getting 'into' media production, or any similar 'behind the scenes' role in media, has always been, and still seems to remain to be, a big mystery. But as Gemma says, it doesn't need to be; and in the chat she offers up some great advice for what people can do/what routes in they can take. What's extra great about Gemma's chat, is that she really emphasises the hard work and graft that has gone into getting where she is now. Chat 74: Lucy: A LOVELY arts and crafts shop owner, AND a children's picture book author

Having been raised in a brilliantly creative (perhaps even 'alternative') household, by creative parents, Lucy struggled to find her 'thing' as a young adult. The working world didn't seem to offer much for her skills and interests, nor did they seem to want her; which left Lucy feeling incredibly lost and disillusioned, as she explains in the chat.Thankfully her creative endeavours kept her moving forward and trying new things, including a vintage wedding business. Lucy then embarked on a publishing career, specialising in children's pictures books, and with that a period of massive highs and big lows. Thankfully her wonderful craft shop has kept her sane and stable.Lucy is brilliantly candid about feeling lost for some pretty large chunks her career; however, she's never given up, and she's never quit. Please meet Lucy.....** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Chat 73: Jonny: A sports (massage) therapist, with a Body Building specialty

In the chat we talk about some of the strange consequences of Jonny's treatment... Farting, burping and unwanted male erections (shhhhh!)... Even unwanted female attention. Some of which are very odd, because it's actually pretty painful.Because unlike Beth's (Lymphatic drainage) massage, Jonny's is pretty intense; which is needed to unlock and treat muscles that quite frankly, don't want to be treated and unlocked. And he's damn good at it, hence why professional athletes travel to be treated by him.It was really interesting hearing how Jonny decided to train in Australia, rather than the UK, purely to get a more rounded and holistic learning experience (and of course, catch a bit of sun, sand and sea along the way); and it's a great example of thinking about want your life to look like, and then making it happen. Please meet Jonny.....** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. You don't specialise in a subject like the Lymphatic system without a keen interest in the human body and human physiology, and Beth has that in abundance. She's had it since a small child, and has been raised to really think about how her body works, and to be mindful of what she puts in it.Add do that decades of travel and (particularly asian) food and healthcare experience, Beth has become a truly unique therapist. When Beth practices her lymphatic massage and holistic treatment, her advice and her work comes from a place of great experience, deep care and immense consideration.... In this inspiring chat, Kirsty talks about how she helps deaf people in lessons, to learn; in interviews, to get jobs; but perhaps most prevalently, in healthcare, to deliver diagnosis, advice, and sometimes, very tragic, terminal news to people. It's beyond humbling.Kirsty also talks about the nuances of signing, and how body language and different signs are needed to portray tone and meaning... It's NOT just hand gestures. Which makes total sense when you think about it.... Break Room 7: Nick & Chops: How to be successful in business (and the common mistakes people make)

Nick's journey into scaling and exiting business started with a need to change what he was doing, and attending a Tony Robbins event on a friend's recommendation. Prior to that he'd had a successful corporate career.Since 'Tony', Nick's journey has taken him far and wide, and he is now paid mega BIG BUCKS to advise global corporations how to scale and run either start-up investments, existing business, or how to manage businesses to exit and sell.In this Break Room, which Nick kindly spared the time for Chops (as an old friend), we get as much advice as we can on what to do right, what to look out for, and what to learn from the most, when starting and running a business. And it all really comes back to us... to you! Please meet Nick......** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Chat 69: George: A hardcore deep-sea diver and engineer... Oh and a DJ!

When we went to Abi (pod 68), we briefly met her partner, George... And before we sat down, Abi casually dropped into conversation that George is a deep sea worker, who professional dives and repairs BIG mega structures underwater for a living.Woah, woah, woah... George, hold the line, don't go anywhere! But that's not the only mad thing about George, because before diving, he used to organise (illegal, but were they, really?) raves and make and produce dance/rave music... and earn good money from it.Great chat from a great chap. Chat 68: Abi: A super caring, people-centric professional organiser, with an unusual back story

Abi's childhood working and running overseas student farms in Cambridgeshire with her family (niche, right?), meant that she grew up fundamentally interested in people and being around people... and helping people. And when she left the family business to make a go of things on her own, that experience led her into social care, community care and healing massage.... She still wanted/needed to help people.Home organising, or rather, professional organising, has the potential to combine all of the skills she used on her family business and in her adult life since: organising people, organising activity, teaching people, and ultimately, helping people. And Abi LOVES it!Please meet Abi.....** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Chat 67: Darren and Sarah: HUGE outdoor enthusiasts and forest adventure business owners

Darren and Sarah's enthusiasm for the outdoors, and for physical activity - in the fresh air - is contagious. They live and breath what they do.Although it's clear that Darren is the driving force behind the business, and some might say (Sarah might say), the driving force behind the madness; you quickly realise how much he relies on Sarah as a voice of reason and as his anchor. They're a fab couple, on a fab mission, to give normal people a fab experience... Break Room 6: Jim, Janet & Chops: Working life 'back when we were young'...

Even though Chops firmly believes Jim & Janet are the best neighbours ever, it's still a bit odd having them on TWWork as podcast guests... Not least because they're retired and long out of the daily grind of working life - right?Wrong. They know a lot! About life and working life, and even though they're retired, they still have business relationships at play, and are still hugely aware of what's going on in the world. They are well-educated, smart, open-minded people, who have a sincere interest in the world and their community. And their take on human connectivity today vs 'their day' was really interesting to hear. For a first, 'soft' attempt, with Jim and Janet (to ensure they didn't back out or freak out), we think it went well. Yes multiple bottles of prosecco were consumed, but that's by-the-by.Please welcome Jim and Janet to TWWork.** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Chat number 66: Louise: A hard-working, multifaceted creative thinker, and now a reclamation expert

Louise's story is a mixture of creative talent, hard work and... well, chance.Because although she carved out her own successful career prior to the world of reclamation, it was a chance meeting and a chance friendship (that later became a romantic relationship) that ultimately brought her to where she is today. And even though she joined her (now) husband's successful reclamation business later on in life (10-years ago), Louise brought with her a wealth of creative talent and retail experience that has enabled the business to evolve and further flourish... And is enabling them to now build their dream home, which will be (as far as possibly) built and made entirely out of reclaimed materials. Please meet Louise.** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Chat number 65: Katie: A brilliantly self-taught - and highly sought after - event caterer

Judging by the smells in Katie's home kitchen when we podded her, it's no wonder Katie is so busy with her catering business.A catering business which to this day makes her family laugh, because as a child, and a young teen, Katie had no interest in food or cooking. Her parents also aren't caterers, so this whole career path came out of the blue.... Although not entirely. Katie talks about being creative as a child, particularly with textiles, and so whether she realised it or not, she was always going to end up thriving in a role that allowed her to express the creative part of herself. But it didn't happen quickly, and it didn't happen overnight... Quite a few 'normal' jobs went through Katie's path before she ended up catering for big events and booked-up months in advance. Please meet Katie.** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Chat number: 64: Kerry: A truly unique, quirky & progressive furniture upholsterer

Kerry's products and her approach are highly sought after. They're beautifully unique and beautifully executed... Hence why she ships them all over the world. She refused to follow the traditional 'upholstering' path - despite being advised by MANY people to do that - and instead she's carved out her own path, and stayed true to it. And it's now paying dividends, because as well as custom upholstery, she's getting asked for collaborations and home styling advice... and much more.As Kerry says in the chat, she's worked hard to create a 'brand', and now where that brand takes her is an open road. Please meet Kerry.** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Chat number: 63: Laura & Andy: Brilliant ethical, eco coffee roasters, and the first couple on TWW...ork

Laura & Andy are just BRILLIANT people inside and out; oozing positivity and 'doing good' as a way of life, not just as a way of doing business. It was a real privilege to spend a couple of hours with them, and as Chops said to them afterwards, she felt like a better person for just spending those two hours with them... That's how impactful they are.Their coffee business is also brilliant, to the extent that they've outgrown their current premises. What started out as just the two of them, is now seven of them, all working to deliver exceptional products, with exceptional customer service, and underlined with an exceptional ethos and approach to the world.Good in = Good out. Please meet Laura and Andy....With special thanks to Laura & Andy, and the Two Chimps team: https://twochimpscoffee.com** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Chat number 62: Simon: A brilliant 25+ year Hairdresser and the first man on TWW...ork

Knowing the first pod as TWWork needed to be 'different', it didn't take Chops's brain long to think of Simon; because she has always wanted to pod him. She just didn't know how or when. It's the reason a year down the line she hadn't (yet) podded a female hairdresser, despite LOTS of recommendations and requests for female hairdressers to be podded.Simon's story is brilliant, irrelevant of the rebrand. He's a work-hard-play-hard talented hairdresser with nearly 30 years of experience. He's also a proud, but reserved gay man, and he talks through his gay journey candidly and eloquently during the chat. The fact that he's also Chops' hairdresser is almost irrelevant... She's simply lucky enough to be in his stratosphere. Please meet Simon.** Music used is under licence by TWW from Audiio.com. Licence # 7923362230 ** Hosted on Acast. Bryony is now in her late thirties, has 3 kids still in primary school, and is FINALLY stepping into her true self. She's combining her deep love and passion for music with her work and career, and she is literally glowing from it.And it's all come at exactly the right time for her, because even though she's got a long way to go before she's 'in demand' writing for NME and Rolling Stone, she's now mature and wise enough to know what she needs to do/what she needs to work on to get better, and she is VERY determined to be better. She'll be writing for those big music titles in no time!Bryony is proof that even later on (not that she's old at all), you can start again, and you can land that dream. Please meet Bryony.** Music played under licence from PRS For Music: Licence number: LE-0035665 ** Hosted on Acast. Katie's had a pretty tough time of it. From struggling at school, to her mum becoming terminally ill, and then having her own fertility struggles in her 30s... It's been a lot.So it's perhaps no surprise that Katie has looked for answers beyond the conventional, and that she's drawn to 'heal' at a root cause level. In this chat we cover off reflexology for (peri)menopause, for fertility, and indeed what it can do to lower stress and anxiety, which in turn means lowering cortisol levels; and if you're on social media at all, you'll know that Cortisone is a hot topic right now, not least because of how much it ages us prematurely. Please meet Katie.** Music played under licence from PRS For Music: Licence number: LE-0035665 ** Hosted on Acast. Because she does work hard. Yes she has a great team of instructors, and a fab family (and dad) that support her, but The Pole Room is her business and the hard work and the risk are hers alone.Ally's studio is amazing, and if you check out her socials, you'll find lots of content proudly shared by her students. Break Room 5: Nicki & Chops: Recruitment is a young person's game!

Nicki has worked in recruitment for many years, and she has seen A LOT of changes in that time.In this Break Room chat, Nicki and Chops talk through a lot (whilst also barely scratching the surface); not least 'age', and how it can be tough as an 'older' person applying for jobs and going up against not only people in their thirties, but twenty somethings as well... Because young people are smart and they play the progression game way better than older generations ever have. The ladies also chat AI, part-time vs hybrid and indeed employer reticence to ever look beyond their industry lane. Please meet Nicki.** Music played under licence from PRS For Music: Licence number: LE-0035665 ** Hosted on Acast. Chat number 57: Helen: A brave Art Dealer and Gallery Owner, disrupting the Art industry

Even though Helen did an Art History degree when she was younger, it wasn't what she went on to pursue as a career. Why? Lots of reasons, but the main one being that she simply didn't think she could, either due to societal perceptions, and/or financial restrictions... It wasn't a job she thought someone like her could do back then. But now that she's in her 40s and has bossed a successful marketing career for nearly 20-years, it's a different ball-game. That youthful fear has been replaced by an innate belief in her own ability.Helen's goal and her plan is simple: To make art accessible to all, not just the elite. Everyone and anyone that would love to find affordable (to them), meaningful pieces to hang and have at their homes or places of work. 'The Art Buyer's' ethos is about helping anyone find and buy artwork - and to help more artists sell artwork, irrelevant of their background. Please meet Helen.** Music played under licence from PRS For Music: Licence number: LE-0035665 ** Hosted on Acast. Katie owns and runs an estate agency, and has been bossing it in the property world for years, but, that's not all she's about.Katie is not one thing; she never has been, and she never will be; and that's just fine. Yes it means a squiggly career/life journey (as we see with lots of our TWW pods), but it's an evolving journey with one firm goal: To find true happiness and peace in whatever she does.So when we tell you that alongside her very 'straight' property business, she's also a reiki master and healer, it shouldn't be too much of a surprise 😉Please meet Katie.PS. Chat number 54: Nicola: A natural health specialist & highly skilled (evolving) Acupuncturist

Hearing Nicola's story, and hearing how she put her own career on hold in support of her partner's (who went on to be her husband), and then in support of her kids, will resonate with A LOT of women. But hearing how she then reclaimed her career - her sense of self - as soon as the kids were a bit older, was equally joyous to hear.Because there is no 'right' way to build a career - no 'right' timeline to follow - and successful relationships/successful marriages are all about 'partnership' (in my view, at least). Nicola took the early sacrifice for the greater good, and her husband later sacrificed and supported her for the greater good. And Nicola is good; her whole persona exudes calmness and peace, which is why she's a great natural healer. Like LOTS of the women, Lisa has very much taken the long way to get to where she is today, which is following her true passion in fashion design and dress-making. A passion she had as a young 16-year-old (if not younger), but somehow got distracted from.... A distraction that has seen her do some mad jobs/roles along the way, whilst having and raising two amazing daughters near enough on her own.Thankfully the years between then and now have not gone to waste, and she's now combining her dress-making passion with with her years of teaching in adult education, and runs sold-out courses and programmes for anyone that wants to learn how to do what Lisa does... Break Room 4: Jo & Chops: What spurns a change in career, and does it ultimately work out?

Jo's journey and career story articulates 'change' brilliantly. She made changes to suit her family - her children's - needs at the time, or at least what she thought they were. She left big pharma and re-trained became a teacher so that she could have matching holidays with her children, and (as she thought beforehand), similar working/school hours to them. But what she didn't factor in, was her own fundamental ambition, coupled with her innate need to go that extra mile; which in the end meant she worked even crazier hours teaching than she had in big pharma (feeling the full responsibility of the role)?! She then got (as she had in pharma) multiple, quick promotions, which duly put extra responsibility on her shoulders... And gave her even more 'extra' miles to go.The result? When her children were a bit older, she left teaching and went back to her previous role (even though people told her she couldn't, because 'she'd been out of it for too long'), and was quickly, and is still, bossing it all over again. Please meet Jo.** Music played under licence from PRS For Music: Licence number: LE-0035665 ** Hosted on Acast. Chat number 52: Sophie: A wonderful teacher and multi-department Head, now bossing it abroad

What's great about Sophie's pod, is that like Leah, Sophie has bossed her teaching career thus far. But in addition, 4-years ago she scratched an itch she'd had for a long time, and went to teach abroad. Moved her whole family to Thailand! And when we say teach, she did teach, and was a Head of department (here in the UK and out in Thailand), but was quickly bossing it so much (in Thailand) that she got promoted to an even bigger Head, so in fact now doesn't teach much at all.Sophie has LOTS of great intel about working abroad; what's it's like and what the packages you get are, so if you're a teacher that's got the same itch, do give Sophie a listen. Henna gives lots of great advice and intel about the highs and lows of dentistry, and is honest about what was and wasn't 'for her' within the field; but perhaps the most poignant topics covered, were about the current craze for fillers and veneers; and (not only what that fundamentally does to your teeth, but), the fact that any work is final?! Something lots of, particularly young people, don't consider.... Teeth NEVER grow back, so whatever cosmetic work you do, is done for life.
