True Crime Bonus - The Disappearance of Christina White and the Lewis-Clark Valley Serial Killer, Part 1 of 4

How does a 12-year-old girl disappear from her best friend's house on the day of the local fair? Who could be responsible her going missing? Why was her homework found miles away on the farm where that same best friend kept her horse? And how did the case of Christina White's disappearance become the lynchpin to discovering that a serial killer was lurking in the Lewis-Clark Valley of Idaho and Washington State? We seek to answer these questions with Allison Dickson of the Vintage Villains podcast in this True Crime Bonus Episode.Contact me at [email protected] out the Silver Linings Handbook website at:https://silverliningshandbook.com/Check out our Patreon to support the show at:https://ww.patreon.com/thesilverliningshandbookJoin our Facebook Group at:https://www.facebook.com/groups/1361159947820623Visit the Silver Linings Handbook store to support the podcast at:https://www.bonfire.com/store/the-silver-linings-handbook-podcast-store/Listen to The Vintage Villians Podcast at:https://www.warpedcortexmedia.com/vintage-villains-podcastListen to The Snake River Podcast with Brandon Schrand at:https://www.snakeriverkiller.com/Visit the Silver Linings Handbook store to support the podcast at:https://www.bonfire.com/store/the-silver-linings-handbook-podcast-store/The Silver Linings Handbook is a production of BlueSky Studios LLC.See the Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and the California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

92. Nightstalker: The Golden State Serial Killer Joe DeAngelo with Julia Cowley

A ransacker stalked a small city in California, breaking into 120 homes in 20 months. Two hundred and twenty miles away, three years later, a man committed 50 home-invasion rapes. Three years after that and 300 miles to the south, a series of at least 11 murders occurred. Former FBI Profiler Julia Cowley, the host of The Consult podcast and lead profiler on the case, joins us to discuss the man who would be linked to the seemingly dissimilar crimes, Joe DeAngelo, who turned out to be the Visalia Ransacker, the East Area Rapist, the Original Nightstalker and a one-man machine of terror now known as the Gold State Killer. Julie talks about how law enforcement was able to connect each of those sets of crimes and identify the former mechanic and police officer, DeAngelo, who is now serving 12 life sentences.Join our community on Facebook, The Silver Linings Fireside Chat:https://www.facebook.com/groups/1361159947820623/To support the podcast and get early and ad-free episodes and exclusive content, join our Patreon:https://www.patreon.com/TheSilverLiningsHandbookTo check out The Consult podcast on Patreon:https://patreon.com/theconsultpodTo check out The Consult podcast episodes on Joe DeAngelo:Profiling Joe DeAngelo, Part 1:https://www.truecrimeconsult.com/profiling-joe-deangelo-part-1/Profiling Joe DeAngelo, Part 2:https://www.truecrimeconsult.com/profiling-joe-deangelo-part-2/Profiling Joe DeAngelo, Part 3:https://www.truecrimeconsult.com/profiling-joe-deangelo-part-3/

Bonus - Media, Manipulation, and Secret Messages: A Conversation with Jayson Blair on The Murder Sheet with Áine Cain and Kevin Greenlee

I sit down as a guest with Kevin Greenlee and Áine Cain of The Murder Sheet podcast is for a conversation about true ethical crime and media coverage of the criminal justice system. We will talk about The Murder Sheet’s recent coverage of Twitter messages between figures in the Delphi murders case. We discuss how judges’ recent efforts to prevent the poisoning of jury pools are backfiring, silencing the families and others who have knowledge of cases and creating a vacuum that content creators, unwell true crime enthusiasts and defense attorneys have developed alliances to get around gag orders, which are often not effective and, therefore, likely unconstitutional.  We also discuss the beauties of the true crime space, including creators and listeners who have contributed to helping solve cold cases, get attention for marginalized victims and comfort the afflicted. We touch on a better way and how listeners and viewers are voting with their feet, turning away from many unethical creators.Check out part one of The Murder Sheet’s coverage of the Delphi defense brain trust's secret messages: https://art19.com/shows/murder-sheet/episodes/26d853a0-e61d-4087-be17-bb1d68cf91eeListen to our previous episode covering the actions of Sadlowski and Parsons here: https://art19.com/shows/murder-sheet/episodes/4adacab5-5280-47e8-a08f-8899bc4efc48Check out the Silver Linings Handbook website at:https://silverliningshandbook.com/Check out our Patreon to support the show at:https://ww.patreon.com/thesilverliningshandbookVisit the Silver Linings Handbook store to support the podcast at:https://www.bonfire.com/store/the-silver-linings-handbook-podcast-store/
