Transcribed: view now.

Update: 2024-09-20
Duration: 01:15:10
Shownotes: I'm very excited to share my conversation with John Swallow, CEO of Idaho Strategic Resources (IDR). IDR is a small cap gold producer that does

things differently. They generate cash flow. Then use that cash flow to explore their massive land package for gold and rare earth elements (REEs). John is a true owner operator. Not only is he the CEO, he owns a lot of the company's stock, barely makes more than the average mining geologist on his team, and has a long-term ownership mindset. Most junior mining companies are promotional gimmicks with a balance sheet and a story. IDR is different. They generate real cash flows and fund their business not on promises, but on results. DISCLOSURE: I AM A SHAREHOLDER IN IDR AS OF THIS RECORDING. NONE OF THIS IS INVESTMENT ADVICE. DO YOUR OWN WORK. MAYBE YOU COME TO THE SAME CONCLUSIONS AS I DID. MAYBE NOT. WHO CARES. OF THIS RECORDING. I DO NOT PLAN TO OWN SHARES FOR AT LEAST TWO WEEKS AFTER THIS PODCAST IS RELEASED AS I'M STILL DOING DUE DILIGENCE. THIS IS MINING PEOPLE, IT'S RISKY. DO YOUR OWN WORK. MOST MINES FAIL. ITS HARD. NONE OF THIS IS INVESTMENT ADVICE. Now with that out of the way ... Doug knows how to build profitable mines that scale, period. That's what he's done in the past, and that's what he's doing with MAI.V. I spend 90 minutes dissecting Doug's process for: Identifying good projects/drill results Building a profitable mining company Finding the right people Aligning company interests with shareholders Protecting shareholders from dilution Using cash from operations to expand a resource And more. If you're a metals/mining investor, you will love this episode. If you're a generalist, you will love this episode. Doug gets it. That's all I can say. Shownotes: What better time to replay my 2022 Twitter Spaces on Carvana (CVNA) and its ability to survive a potential bankruptcy than this week? If you

haven't heard, CVNA has ripped over the past two years, rising from a low of ~$4/share to over $100/share. This is easily one of the most controversial stocks on Twitter. You either LOVE or HATE Carvana. There's no in-between. Fast-forward to 2024 and my Twitter audience has grown, so a lot of people probably missed this conversation. It's also a great way of reviewing past priors and seeing how those have changed over time. I hope you enjoy! ---------------------------------------------------------------- This week, we’re chatting all things Carvana ($CVNA) from a Twitter Spaces I organized on July 7, 2022. The goal was to figure out the +20 billion dollar question… Will Carvana ($CVNA) survive? We discussed how much liquidity Carvana has, what could cause a liquidity crunch, and whether the valuation is attractive enough. Plus, we had amazing guests such as Henry Rearden (@integrity4mkts), @GuyDealership, and Marc Cohodes (@AlderLaneEggs). DYODD PEOPLE NONE OF THIS IS INVESTMENT ADVICE. With that out of the way, I think you'll love this conversation. BQE is right up my alley and a perfect way to play the metals and mining cycle. Shownotes: I'm stoked to share my conversation with Calvin Froedge. Calvin has one of the most unique investing backgrounds I've encountered in four years of the

podcast. He didn't graduate high school. Instead, he spent his late teen years working for his dad's machinery business. He explored other business ventures in his early twenties before moving to Panama. Today, Calvin spends his time researching new investments and running his Shipping Data company, Marhelm. I thoroughly enjoyed this conversation. Calvin is a breath of fresh air. He brings a common sense approach to real asset investing. There's no fancy math or excel work. Calvin can explain all his investments on the back of a napkin. You will enjoy his insights. We spend the hour discussing Petrobras $PBR, Ecopetrol $EC, and other ideas on Calvin's radar. Update: 2024-02-23

MAYBE NOT. WHO CARES. Regardless of what you think of mining stocks, you will appreciate John's honest approach to his life's calling. I hope you enjoy. Finally, a big thanks to the following sponsors for making the podcast a reality. Shownotes: I'm excited to share my conversation with Ernset Scheyder. Ernest is a writer for Reuters and recently authored the book "The War Below: Lithium, Copper,

And The Global Battle To Power Our Lives." I just got my copy in the mail and can't wait to read it. During the podcast, I spend an hour dissecting Ernest's writing habits/strategies, early background as a journalist, and what led him to writing this book. From there, we explore the world of critical minerals from a human perspective and get insights that didn't make it into the book, but were just as interesting. If you enjoyed this podcast then you should buy the book (link here). I don't get paid for it. I just think Ernest is doing great work that should be appreciated and the topic is very important to me. Shownotes: I hope you guys enjoy my podcast with Aaron Edelheit on the Cannabis industry. I had Aaron on the podcast two years ago to dive

deep into the cannabis space. Since then, the industry has done nothing but incinerate investor capital. And that's precisely why I wanted to interview Aaron. I love his transparency, humility, and ability to objectively assess where/what he got wrong, and how he plans on fixing his cannabis investing process in 2024. Thanks again to Aaron for coming back on the show. I had a blast! Finally, a big thanks to the following sponsors for making the podcast a reality.
